I have had many challenges when trying to achieve a goal, such as graduating high school. I  was always told that because my parent didn't graduate from high school that I would turn out just like them . Instead of following in their footsteps i decided to walk a path just for me, that path allowed me to maintain straight A's for my high school career. It was the doubts that people imbedded in me that caused me to be so fearful of what i could really do in life. Being an African American is hard , but being a woman is even harder, just like Emmy Noether , i have faced sexism throughout my life. Men are considered to be better but because they already have that mind set it was harder for me to be looked at on the same level as them , and that caused me to feel very discouraged. I eventually didn't let that get to me and I have excelled through life with my head held high.
